The annual business meeting is an important meeting for all of our members. We will discuss numerous topics in addition to providing you the new board officers who were elected for Vice President, Government Liaison, Communication, Secretary, and Education.
Cost Savings of Cafeteria Plans
- Kathy is a member of Towers Perrin’s Governance and Compliance Advisory practice.
- Kathy has more than 20 years of experience in employee benefit plan compliance, design, implementation, communication and administration. She has counseled employer/plan sponsors in a variety of industries, including insurance, manufacturing, retail, technology, banking, health care and professional services. She has worked extensively with school districts and governmental entities.
- Kathy has significant experience serving diverse clients:
- Conducting operational and compliance risk assessments for all types of employee benefit plans
- Assisting plan sponsors to comply with federal laws and regulations that affect employee benefit plans and their sponsors
- Advising plan fiduciaries on ERISA Title I compliance
- Kathy is a co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law V Welfare Plans Subcommittee. She has published widely on employee benefit plan compliance requirements.
- Kathy earned her JD with honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago-Kent College of Law, her MBA from DePaul University and her BA with high honors from University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana.
Kathy’s presentation will give you a broad overview of the most common types of cafeteria plans and how they impact payroll, also how both company and the employee benefit, what the most common compliance issues, and what are some future issues for payroll professionals in the changing legislation.
