This meeting will focus on developing the relationship between Payroll and Human Resources. Effective and efficient service delivery requires bridging the gap between these functions. This will provide the foundation you need to begin the process. The presentation will also include: building a successful Payroll and Human Resources team, speaking the same language, roles and responsibilities of each function and effective tools for data sharing.
Linda Obertin is Vice President, Process Ownership for Fidelity Human Resources Services which provides a full suite of outsourced offerings in Human Resources, Payroll, Health & Welfare, Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit services. She has over 20 years of payroll experience. She is a Certified Payroll Professional and currently holds the position as President of the National APA. She chairs the APA’s Strategic Payroll Leadership Task Force. Linda is a regular APA speaker and has written articles for PAYTECH. She received an APA Citation of Merit in 1999 and was named “Payroll Woman of the Year” in 2002…but it all began at the Northstar Chapter where she held several Board positions.
Robin Murphy has 32 years with Deluxe and has experience in implementing many new systems (i.e. accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, time and attendance and payroll). Her experience includes: Staff Specialist in Accounting, Regional Accountant, Accounting Manager, Regional Accounting Manager, Regional Operations Manager and Corporate HRIS/Payroll Manager.
Robin has also held the positions of Historian, Secretary, Director of Communications, Vice President and President of the Northstar Chapter APA. She facilitated several CPP study groups and received her credentials as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) in the fall of 1995. Robin was named 2002 Member of the Year by the Northstar Chapter Board. She has been a speaker at monthly membership meetings and at the Annual Statewide Conference.
Robin most recently was on the Board of Advisors for Region 2 with the National American Payroll Association. She is also a member of the Hotline Referral Service and CHAMPS. She was the recipient of the 2010 Meritorious Service Award from the National APA and is currently on the Emerging Technologies Committee and Education Advisory Committee for National APA.
